Your newborn photo experience begins with a personalized consultation. Reach out and I’ll take time to answer your questions and learn more about your vision for your baby’s photo session. Once your session is reserved, we’ll thoughtfully curate every detail together. From the colour palette and styling to family outfits. You’ll enjoy exclusive access to my extensive collection of luxury newborn props and custom-designed pieces, each selected to complement your vision and personal style.
3. Session Day
On the day of your newborn session, every detail is gently taken care of, from bottle feedings to diaper changes, allowing you to relax and be fully present. The session unfolds at an unhurried pace, with soft, natural posing as we capture your baby’s delicate details and the first tender connections of your family’s earliest days.
4. Hand Retouching & Image Selection
Within 3 days of your session, you’ll receive a private selection gallery to choose your favourite photos. Each selected image is hand-retouched with care, preserving the soft, timeless style you see throughout my portfolio.

When is the best time for a newborn photoshoot?
The ideal time for a newborn session is between 5 and 14 days after birth. During these early days, babies are often sleepier and easier to gently pose. Missed the 14-day window? Don’t worry—we happily photograph newborns up to 30 days old and can still create beautiful, timeless portraits. We’ll simply adapt the session to your baby’s unique stage and comfort level.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
Babies rarely arrive exactly on their due date, and we’ve planned for that. Just let us know when your little one arrives, and we’ll adjust your session date as needed. We’ll also check in around the due date if we haven’t heard from you. When you reserve your due date with us, your newborn session spot is secured.
When should I book my newborn session?
To provide the highest level of care and attention, we accept only a limited number of newborn sessions each month. Most families reserve their due date during the third trimester, ideally 4 weeks in advance for weekdays and 6 weeks for weekends. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, we’ll simply adjust your session date to accommodate your growing family.
What happens if my baby is fussy during the session?
Do I need to pay a deposit to book my newborn session?
Yes, a $250 first payment is required to reserve your newborn session and begin the planning process. The remaining balance can be paid on the day of your session.
Is newborn photography safe?
With years of experience photographing hundreds of newborns, along with Child First Aid certification and ongoing safety training, we always follow your baby’s lead and prioritize their comfort and safety above all else.
We never force a pose or take risks just to create a beautiful image. In fact, there are times when we will politely decline a parent’s pose request if it isn’t suitable for their baby. Your baby’s well-being will always come before any photograph.
How long does a newborn photo session take?
It usually takes 3-4 hours depending on the baby. At Little One Photography, we offer unlimited session time. This ensures we can work at your baby’s pace, allowing breaks for feeding, soothing, or changing without feeling rushed.
What should parents and siblings wear for a newborn session?
Our newborn and family portraits are designed to be timeless and minimalistic. We recommend choosing simple, neutral clothing without logos, graphics, or busy patterns. If you’d like to wear something from your own closet, choose an outfit you can imagine loving and displaying in your home 10 years from now.
For newborn and parent portraits, simple is often best. Soft tones, textures, and even bare skin can create beautiful, classic images that never go out of style.
We also keep a selection of simple studio wardrobe pieces available as a backup for last-minute bookings. While we don’t share many parent portraits online to protect our clients’ privacy, we’re happy to show additional examples upon request.
Can I bring pets to your newborn studio?
Yes! Pets are welcome to join your newborn session. Our studio is thoroughly cleaned before and after every newborn session, and we love capturing the special bond between your baby and furry family members.
That said, every pet has a unique personality, and not all pets are comfortable in a studio environment or around a newborn. We highly recommend discussing your pet with us before your session so we can help you decide if it’s the right fit and plan accordingly.

Do you provide RAW images?
No, RAW images are not included with any packages. Just like a film negative, RAW files are unfinished and require professional editing to bring each portrait to life. Every image you receive is carefully hand-edited to ensure it meets the quality and style you see in our portfolio. The finished artwork is the product we proudly deliver to our clients.
